What is Holistic Wellness?

Holisstic means “Of the whole” and wellness means “ State of being in good health.”


Holistic Wellness is a way of healing and taking care of yourself in every aspect: physically, socially,emotionally,mentally,intellectually, and spiritually.

Meditation helps improve self awareness.


Meditation can also improve one’s pain tolerance and help fight against substance abuse. As many of you know, not many years ago, I suffered from alcoholism. Everyday I felt like I needed to drink to escape my harsh reality or to feel accepted. Meditation and practicing mindfulness saved me. Later, I picked up candle making as a hobby and began to research aromatherapy and the benefits candles have on our mental health. Many of you, like myself, would just burn candles because they smell nice. There’s nothing like a warm scented candle burning after you just finished cleaning the house, right? Have you ever taken a mental note of how burning your favorite scented candle makes you feel mentally? That type of positive emotional feeling can have a lasting effect on your mind, body and soul.

How do Candles Benefit your Holistic Wellness Journey?


When using candles for wellness, first, you want to be sure the candle is made with natural base. Ex. Soy Wax; Scents have a direct route to your limbic system like the amygdala and the hippocampus regions. The fragrance of the candle you are burning can trigger certain emotions and memories which can help your brain to produce serotonin and dopamine, which aid in keeping your body calm and relaxed along with keeping your mind focused.
